I got my tongue pierced on my 18th birthday, along with my 1st tattoo in the same day, so I was extremely uncomfortable that first following week! The actual procedure of the piercing was so quick and simple. It costed me $50 at my local piercing shop and of course that included the jewelry itself and the first change. She clamped my tongue and honestly the worst part about it was keeping my tongue sticking out that long and I had drooled all over myself by the time she had put my piercing in. It felt so weird having something in my mouth at all times and it was even weirder trying to eat with it. She told me I could eat whatever I wanted just be careful, and online a lot of people suggested to stay away from spicy foods. But of course I come home to spicy Chinese food which is my weakness. My parents got me Chinese for my birthday and I wasn’t going to pass it up. So I tried it and had to chew super slow because my tongue ring kept smacking off my teeth, you never realize how reckless your tongue is while you’re eating until you first try to eat with a tongue ring. But it was a success, and the piercing healed super quickly and I still have it and love it! I did end up switching to acrylic and bioplast jewelry because I chipped my tooth a bit on a metal one. The acrylics usually hold up for awhile before they crack or wear down but I haven’t had any other problems with it! I love how easy it is to change and easy it is to clean. All I really do to clean it it brush the balls when I brush my teeth and use mouthwash that isn’t alcohol free. I change the jewelry pretty often too. Also, yes, it does make kissing a bit more interesting for those of you that were wondering! Eating did get normal and I no longer hit it off my teeth. I also forget I even have it pierced half the time because I’m so used to it now.
I’ve always strived to be different and unusual. So when I received this piercing it was just that, different and unusual. People have stated that they have seen this before, but however many claim such things, I myself have never witnessed with my own eyes the same piercing. Usually it comes with questions and unusual looks. I’ve not taken this piercing out in almost five years. It didn’t really hurt, because I had an excellent artist that did it properly and had little swelling. Nowadays I barely remember it’s there.
So my best-friend bought me some things from here because I was talking about piercing my tongue! It took me exactly 25 mins to hype myself up enough to actually hold the needle to my tongue! Then she had to hold me so that I wouldn’t freak! 5 mins later I’m holding the forceps and needle to my tongue and I’m like I have to do this! So then I push through it was the worst thing ever! I thought I was gonna die! But, I just hurried up and pushed the jewelry in! Now I’m just sitting here with a swollen tongue! Thank you guys I don’t think I would of ever thought to buy something from you guys!
I got my first “real” piercing when I was 17. I had been interested in body modification since I was 12-13. Everyone always tries to say “it’s a phase” or “what will you do when you get older?” Well I can say 13 years later I still have that first real piercing among others and I hold a great full time job and a bachelors degree.
That first real piercing was my tongue which is actually double pierced now. These were the least painful piercings I have ever had. I was anxious and nervous for the first one. The clamps hurt and are awkward. The piercer had opened everything in front of me and was calm through the entire thing. He explained how to care for the piercings before he started. He also gave me the aftercare directions on an index card. He told me to take a breath in and on the exhale the needle went through so easy and effortlessly. I felt a relief as it was over and a sense of accomplishment. The one piercing I had wanted for so long is finally real to me. The healing is the worst part but after 3 days the swelling went down and I was back to normal food. I do recommend ice chips and soft foods.
The second time around I was still just as excited and nervous. This was 2 years after the first one. I went to a different place which was extremely thorough. The piercer had to be about 8 to 9 months pregnant. This pregnant belly was pushed up against me as she pierced my tongue, her shirt had baby on board across it. She thought me and my friend were crazy. My friend was there getting her third hole in her Gene Simmons like tongue. I will never forget the days following. We decided to go on a deep sea fishing trip. Bad idea. We both got sea sick since the water was extremely choppy. Throwing up with a swollen tongue is not easy. It took a little longer to heal but after a week things were back normal.
I guess I’m pretty lucky since these piercings don’t affect my speech whatsoever and are rarely noticed by anyone. I can’t imagine not having them.
For the longest time i have been in love with body modification, i just loved the whole idea of being my own person. When i was born my parents only expected only 1 baby which was my sister older by 3 mins her name is raylee ann , from birth to age 11 we were forced to dress alike even down to our hair. When we turned 12 i wanted independence from my beloved identical twin. I wanted to start dressing different and being our own person. Fast foward to a few years when we were 15 i saw what i thought would change my life, a belly button piericng! I begged and begged but had to wait until i was 16 and once i got the small charm in my naval i felt so different from my sister, by then i was unstoppable i got my nose pierced, 11 holes in each ear, snake bites, tongue and hip surfaces. By then i had all the independence from my sister. Everybody was always getting us confused but not anymore , i had a more edgy style and she was so “preppy” . As you probably know my parents weren’t the happiest about all these holes that i put in myself, they were so disappointed but i didn’t care i felt so awesome that when i got my first credit card i spent probably 100 bucks just on this website. Its so crazy that people think that because raylee and i are twins that we need to be just alike when were just two totally different people who just happen to look alike and at one point were womb-mates. Nobody was prepared for me when i was born no one still is , you never know i may come home with a new piercing….i should have mentioned i work in shop and alwaaaays recommend your website because i swear you guess have the greatest pieces ever. Most of my clients come back and show me what they’ve bought and just leave raving reviews. Now that i’m older i’ve let most of my facial piercings close because i’m older now with a family i’m still sooo proud.
One day me and my friends all went to this tattoo shop right by my house. My friend walked in there first and ask them to give him a random piercing. So they gave him a list of their piercings and he tried to pick the Prince Albert. When he was done with his piercing I got the list of piercings also and after I seen that he got his friends and he actually went through with it, he said I should get my tongue pierced since he got his Prince Albert so he would pay for it too if I did. So I got my tongue pierced after that and he paid for all of it. When we went home everyone thought that since he got his Prince Albert done and I got my tongue pierced that we were going to do something since they put two and two together. But we were just friends and didn’t do any and it was just funny how everyone thought that.
When I was around 12-13 years old I begged my dad for a tongue piercing because it looked so cool and at one point in my dad’s life he had one. I’ve always liked the look of a tongue piercing and thought it was so cool that I could buy different balls to go onto my piercing. Around November 2014 I was searching up the good, bad and ugly of a tongue piercing. First I was looking up people who got the tongue piercing and posted it on YouTube, so I would know what to expect. Then I went I started looking up of “infections” and “a bad tongue piercing” and that kind of discouraged me. Then I had my family doubting me and telling me “There’s only one reason why girls get that piercing” and I stood up for myself and said screw it I didn’t care what they thought. I was doing it in honor of my dad. He passed away and getting this piercing makes me think of all the good times I had with him. So finally on December 3rd (which also happened to be my brothers birthday) I went to my local tattoo & body piercing shop and I handed over my ID and signed papers stating that they are not responsible if my tongue gets infected and that all of their tools are sterilized. As I was walking up to the chair, my hands started shaking so bad and I was smiling nervously and sat there like a stone. The nice woman and man came over and told me what to expect and to relax, before I knew it they numbed my tongue and shoved a needle through. Honestly, it was definitely not as bad as the YouTube videos made it seem or the pictures on Google. So after that I went home and stayed home for 2 days and my tongue was so swollen I couldn’t eat anything but I was brave enough to try to eat pizza. At times the pain was bad, especially at night but then after a week I noticed I could eat way more and it wasn’t as swollen. Taking care of your piercing is very important and I stuck to it, I had work the 3rd day of my piercing and it was painful but I got through it. How I took care of my piercing was a daily routine of (non-iodized) sea salt soaks 3-4 times a day and mouth wash after brushing my teeth and after every meal. I’ve had my tongue piercing for a little over 2 months now and it’s amazing. I still clean it every day along with my teeth and it doesn’t hurt at all and it’s fully heal and if I got more piercing I think this would always be my favorite piercing.
