I was dying for a new piercing, it had been almost 2 years since I pierced my tragus and I really wanted something new. I am a school teacher, I have 13 tattoos but only two of them are visible. I also have 8 piercings, if you can’t tell by now I love tattoos and piercings. I have always wanted my tongue pierced since I was 16, but my mom is extremely strict and she would NEVER let me pierce my tongue. Now that I am a school teacher, I definitely can’t pierce my tongue I am constantly talking and my students would see it. So after some thought and not to many options of places to pierce I decided to pierce my tongue web. I went to the piercer I always go to, when I do my tattoos and piercings I tend to go alone. I sat down in the piercers chair, he had to examine my mouth to make sure I had enough web to even pierce. After he determined it was enough web down there he began to prep for the piercing. He put the clamps on me and told me to take a deep breath in and out and BAM it was over!!! He pierced me with a captive bead ring, he said something about it being better for healing. My piercing literally healed in like a week I barely had any pain, and its the perfect tongue piercing for me.

My name is Kari, my piercing story is about my septum. I was only in high school when I got my septum pierced, but my mom took me to get it. My parents are pretty laid back, I made a promise with my mom that as long as I kept up with my grades I would be able to get my piercing and keep it! She agreed with the consent of my father of course and we made plans to go. It seemed like the longest week in history but Friday had finally come, we went down to the tattoo shop that was downtown. When I got there I was super nervous my palms were sweating. My mom had to fill out a consent form to allow me to get pierced, the piercer then called me to the piercing room. My heart began to race and I felt my moms hand on my shoulder as she said I know your not scared you nagged me for 3 months to get this. I giggled a little bit, it helped me calm my nerves. I sat down on the piercing table, the piercer went over the type of jewelry he was putting in my nose for healing he explained the big clamps that had to do in my nose as well, can we save uncomfortable! He finally got the to piercing and it was painful my eyes even watered my nose was a lil runny too LOL. When I got to school that Monday alot of people thought my septum ring was fake, they couldnt believe I actually did it, but they loved it though.

My brother has been tattooing for about 15 years now and he finally opened his own shop this past summer. We were extremely excited for him in this big new step of business. When he opened his new shop he wanted to get into piercings as well. He along with a friend of his that would be working in the shop went and got certified to be piercers. After that, he was ready to stick a hole in anyone that would allow him. For a while I had been wanted a cartilage piercing, I was torn between the rook and the tragus. My brother kept bothering me to let him pierce me, I figured why not he has done all of my tattoos so far, what can possibly go wrong? After work I headed down to his shop, he set everything up I told him that I didn’t really know which piercing I wanted and of course he suggested just doing them both, and that’s exactly what I did. I pierced my left ear both the tragus and rook, it was a pretty painful experience all in one shot but it was definitely worth the pain.

My name is Melissa, I am a senior in high school and my mom promised me if I got a scholarship that I could get my industrial pierced. I have been wanting my industrial pierced for 2 years now. I really wanted to get my belly pierced but I play basketball and the piercing will interfere with me playing and the healing process so I have to wait until I am finished with school being that I have a basketball scholarship. My parents planned a trip to Disney for me and my two brothers. I was super excited, I told my mom that I wanted to get my ear pierced in Orlando. When we got up there and the first night we went out to dinner and on our way back to the hotel I spotted a tattoo and piercing shop my mom convinced my dad to stop so that I could get my piercing done. My whole family came in the shop as my mom and I filled out the release paperwork my younger brothers began to tease me and tell me how much it was going to hurt. I was determined not to be scared and nervous I really wanted it. When I finally made it to the piercers chair I was shaking, my mom had to hold my hand LOL. The good thing about the piercing was I got to lay down, but it is a very very painful piercing. I have until August for it to heal before I head to school.

My sister is a pro at piercing!
I was her test subject for everything… tattoos, piercings, and even her sober driver. As much as I loved my sister I knew that she had one flaw…her boss…which happened to also be her fiancé…bad combination there!!
I just happened to be her test for the day and I wanted my tongue done…This was the only shop around that would pierce a pregnant lady. I got permission from my doctor so I did it. it was my craving!!
My sister began to do my piercing and her boss walked in…. I thought everything was fine but months later I found out it is crooked!!
She is lucky I wont redo it!!

So I went to my usual piercer. A clean, certified, cheap shop. This would be my 4th piercing with this shop. I was already used to the routine, but I still got my pre-piercing jitters! I filled out my paperwork, paid and waited in the lobby before my piercer called me back.
I took a seat up on that big black chair and got ready. I could feel my insides tingling, shaking a bit but a big smile on my face. “Its no worries, this is the fastest piercing we do.” He put the little marking dot on my nose and handed me a mirror to check it out. With a A-Ok he put the piercing tube into my nose [keeps the needle from piercing more than it should], and with a ‘pop!’ It was over. My eye watered up abit, a little bit of bleeding but it was nothing! The nose ring is by far the easiest piercing you can get.

It was right after my 21st birthday. I had already had a bit more extreme nipple rings, but I always get giddy and nervous before any piercing. I had finally decided to get my tongue pierced. I had a shop and piercer I was comfortable with, he’d done all my piercings up till then, so I was relaxed around him. I remember him telling me from my last piercings, I needed to eat before I came in. So I took his advice and stopped at the Jack in the Box across the street before going in. Chicken Nuggets and fries and a soda. I thought I had done good, lots of starch, but I forgot the sugar for the adrenaline rush!
So after a few friends joined me, we walked into the shop just before closing. He assured me it would be done and over fast. Sat me in the chair and got me ready. I sat there with my nervous jitters before I closed my eyes and felt that sting. It was done! Nothing close to the pain I expected.
With my adrenaline going, I immediately jumped up to look into the mirror on the wall, admiring my bloody new piercing. “I need you to sit down hun.
We’re almost done. Just gotta put on the ball and keep an eye on you for a minute. Make sure you don’t go into shock.” I felt great! I felt like a little bad ass! So I sat back down with a big smile on my face.
I suddenly started to feel tired. My friend said my face went white and I laid my head back. I just felt so tired! “I need you to keep your eyes open hun.” I almost couldn’t. I just felt like taking a nap right then and there.
Then SHWOOP! I got half a tab of smelling salts. It burned like chlorine and I immediately shocked awake. He gave me the second half in my half awake shock and made me shudder again from the burn. “Forgot to eat huh?” My friend had to speak for me since my tongue had started to swell. I felt so stupid for forgetting to eat something sugary. I attempted to eat a snickers my piercer brought be from the candy case out front of the shop, but my new tongue ring made my swollen kept me from chewing, so i got a pack of skittles instead and swallowed a few like pills before putting a few in my cheeks and sucking on them.
I have to say I was swollen for about a week. Stuck with mash potatoes and soups. Second week I could chew softer foods and by about a month later I was eating with no problems. So moral of my horror story? EAT SOME SUGAR

I recently turned 30 this past August and for my birthday a few of my friends went out to Vegas to celebrate. We had so much fun between gambling, partying and eating we were exhausted our lastnight staying in Vegas. On our last night there we decided to go out and get dinner and drink. One of my friends wanted to get a tattoo on her left shoulder. She kept saying hey its Vegas we cant leave here without getting something pierced or tattooed.I figured hey shes right so I went for the piercing. After eating dinner we found a tattoo shop on the strip and decided to go for it. It was my birthday and I had always wanted my nipples pierced but I was waaaaaay to scared to ever actually get it done. Through excitement and adrenaline I decided to do it. I couldn’t pass up the deal because I only paid for one nipple piercing because it was my birthday piercings were half off! I sat down the piercer gave me a bottle of water and told me to relax as he prepped the jewelry and needles for the piercing I couldnt really calm down I mean I was about to get my nipples pierced for goodness sakes. He had me lay down after he marked my nipples, he told me to take a deep breath in and breathe out and that had to be the worse pain I’ve ever felt, it felt like someone was biting my nipple and would not let go LOL. After suffering through the second nipple I was done, I would not get the piercing again if they ever closed lol it was way to painful. My nipple rings mean a lot to me they are a memorable piercing. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

My name is Angela, I’m 21 years old I got my first body piercing for my 21st birthday. I had it all planned out, my family and I went out to dinner and of course I went out to party after dinner. The next day I set a date with my best friends, we planned to get tattoos and piercings. My birthday is December 30 so for the new year we were going to bring it in with new tattoos and piercings! We went down to the tattoo shop on Saturday afternoon and at the time I went there with the intention to only get the tattoo on my foot. When I got to the tattoo shop the girl that was working the desk area had her lip pierced on both sides…shark bites are what they are called I think. Anyways I thought they were extremely cute and I really wanted my lip pierced. I was not one for piercings, I really didnt know if I could commit to the pain twice LOL so after talking to the piercer, I decided to get a medusa piercing. It looked different alot of girls have the monroe piercing and I wanted something different so the medusa was perfect. Of course I got my tattoo first, and after that torture was done I went and got pierced. The piercing itself was extremely painful and it felt like someone had punched me in the lip for days. Once it healed though it was gorgeous and well worth the pain.
